Where's your favorite view of the Philly skyline?

You hear the usual answers, but there's some anomalies, like the view from 8th below Wallace, where you see the view of the skyline above an old railroad building, a reminder of Philly's industrial past. What's your fave?

mine's interesting... and you can't really pause to take it all in unless you're in traffic... but as you're coming up 95 N and get off for the vine street expressway, the way the exit ramp swoops up provides an incredible view of the city skyline. basically, you're northeast of center city looking in a southwesterly direction. on a crisp, cloudless fall day, this view can't be beat.

(sort of similar to what Mar is talking about)

I'm partial to the tippy-top of the skyline visible from Penn Treaty Park.

For sentimental reasons, I've always been fond of the view coming on on 76 — reminds me of when I was a kid and coming into the big city for the first time. Not necessarily the most picturesque, but it's definitely a fave.

I like from any rooftop in old city...you get not just the skyline but a look into the city's past...notice on nearby brick buildings old advertising or company names faded...it makes for great black and white pictures.

Have you ever seen the city skyline from the front of Belmont Mansion in Fairmount Park? It's awesome.

I have shot many of the angles of the Philly Skyline. I love it! One from the South Street Bridge is here: http://www.magickmichael.com/img/v2/p706375197-2.jpg (pre Comcast building). I have unique images from all over the city. I will be showing them at the Mt. Airy Art Garage this weekend too!

    I Love photographing this city!

I think the best view is from atop Lemon Hill in Fairmount Park. You can see the Art Museum and Boat House Row in the foreground and the skyline in the background.

I love the view from street level on 16th and 17th streets anywhere south of Spruce but especially around Fitzwater. It's not a full view but I've always walking north on those streets at night.

The South Street Bridge had great views when it was open. The Schuylkill River trail also has some cool views, including 30th St station from a low vantage point, plus the rest of the skyline on the other side of the river.

If you've got an in at Drexel, or know a Drexel student, there's the new residential/dorm building on 34th and Race that has an expansive view of Philadelphia from West to East. If you get on the 17th floor, you can see everything, the windows are from floor to ceiling and it's definitely not a usual view.

Is there any place better than Belmont Plateau in the parking lot across from the mansion?

Driving up 676 in Jersey between the Walt and the Ben gives a great panorama.

Vine Street x-way, west bound, just past 8th offers some nice contrasting views at night when it's late enough to have not much traffic and early enough to still have all the lights on.

Landing at PHL from the east, coming in low over the Navy Yard is special too.
